Robyn Buhl,

Children’s Ministry Director

BASIC STUFF: I grew up in St. Helens, Oregon mainly with my dad and two older brothers, but also with a huge, close-knit extended family. I moved away to college just after high school. That's where I met Rob, who soon became my husband. We moved to Albany during the summer before my junior year of college when my husband came on staff in 2002. I joined the staff in 2006 as the Children's Ministry Director, and our life has been a whirl-wind of fun and learning every since!

BIRTHDAY: February 23rd

Education: I graduated from Corban College (formerly Western Baptist College) in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Bible and Education and a minor in Theology.

My Family: I married my wonderful husband Rob in 2001 and we have two beautiful children, Leeann (4) and Titus (1).

Brief Testimony: I grew up very much a part of the world, but I often thought about "God" and "spiritual things". I spent a lot of time searching for the meaning of life and the path to heaven. I spent a lot of time trying to be "good-enough" or "moral-enough" or "smart-enough". However, I constantly fell short of all of those things. My junior year of high school I decided that maybe I should try religion. I set out to learn about all the different world religions with the aim of becoming "religious-enough".

Half-way through my senior year of high school, on December 31st, 1999--I heard a speaker at a New Year's Eve out-reach event say that Jesus died for sinners, even me! It didn't matter how many bad things I had done, or how imperfect I was--God wanted to give me a second chance, forgive (and forget!) my sins. So that night, just before the turn of the century, I asked God to forgive my sins and I invited Jesus Christ to be a part of my life. I've spent each year since them learning how to love, obey, and serve God with more and more of my life!

Interests and Favorite Places: IKEA, Steamers (a local coffee stand), IKEA, Wal-Mart (it reminds me of home!), IKEA, Disneyland, IKEA, Maui, IKEA!

Spending time with girlfriends, Picking up stray Cheerios from random places around my house, Hanging out at Coffee Shops and being a tickle monster to my two favorite little people!

Dislikes: Dishonesty, greed, most animals (they're great for other people, just not for me!), and most vegetables!

Odd Facts: I have 4 siblings and 2 step-siblings ranging in age from 2 to 29. I'm only 4'11. I love country music and nearly anything that contains chocolate or ice cream! I also have a huge fear of water in my face.

Life Scripture: Romans 8:28 "We know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose."
